Summary of Fellowships for BE Students

The fellowships listed below include intramural as well as extramural fellowships listed by due date and are directed primarily to master degree students. Faculty and students wishing to include site links of fellowships that could be added to this list can submit their recommendations to Anne-Marie Dieters.

Some of the fellowships listed below are collections from the Graduate Student Support’s List Serve which are fellowships received in the Graduate Division and forwarded to whomever subscribes to the ListServe.  If you have not already subscribed to this ListServe and wish to do so, click here and follow the instructions.

Please note: For intramural fellowships, all applications, proposals, letters of recommendation, and abstracts are submitted to the Graduate Advisor by the deadline date.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund
Deadline: October 15th each year

Be of Hispanic heritage (one parent fully Hispanic or each parent half Hispanic). Be a U.S. Citizen or a legal Permanent Resident. Awards generally range from $1,000 to $3,000.

American Association of University Women International Fellowships (AAUW)
Deadline: December 15, each year
International Fellowships

Citizenship in country other than US.  Intention to return to home country to pursue a professional career.  Stipend is $18,000.

American Association of University Women (AAUW)
Deadline: January 9, each year

US Citizen or Permanent Resident. Architecture is targeted field of study. Awarded to women who intend to pursue a full-time course of study in degree program where women’s participation traditionally has been low. Stipend ranges from $5,000-$12,000.

Graduate Student Support Special Fellowships for Continuing Students
Deadline: around January 10, each year
Deadline for all Special Fellowships except for UCLA Affiliates/Hortense Fighbaugh.
For these fellowships, application deadline is Friday, March 5th (see below under March 5th)

TA & Reader Positions
Deadline: Spring Quarter, each year

All students with above average knowledge in core courses eligible.

Applications for will not be posted until early Spring quarter.  Students will be notified after posting or check here in early to mid Spring.


American Indian Graduate Center, Graduate Fellowships
Deadline: June, each year

Any field of interest.  Based on financial need and enrolled member of a federally recognized American Indian tribe or Alaskan Native group, or possess one fourth degree federally recognized Indian blood.

A catalog of major fellowships for which announcements have been received in the Graduate Division’s Special Fellowships Office. GRAPES contains information on approximately 400 scholarships, fellowships, internships, and awards for graduate students.

Scholarships for Minority Groups at any level from high school through postdoctoral. This funding is open to minorities at any level (high school through postdoctoral) for a variety of activities including study, research, travel, training, career development and creative projects.
