The fair allowed students to explore pathways into graduate research, with many expressing curiosity about how to get involved in labs, tailor their applications, and navigate the transition from undergraduate to graduate study. Students had a lot of questions about getting into STEM research field especially due to the nature of the Occidental College being a liberal arts school, with less emphasis on STEM coursework during their undergraduate degree. BGA members offered insights into the interdisciplinary nature of bioengineering, emphasizing the efforts and commitment towards making meaningful real-world impact with unmet health-care needs. Attending these events was very inspiring for these current UCLA bioengineering graduate students as well and they hope to stay more involved in these community-building, outreach events to foster meaningful connections between institutions and aspiring students.
