On Friday, September 27, 2024, the UCLA Bioengineering department hosted the graduate student orientation at the end of week 0 to welcome our new graduate students into the department.
The event consisted of a boxed luncheon held in the Eng VI patio for both students and faculty members to meet and get to know each other more. Then it winded down for everyone to go inside the Cohen room for department introductions done by Department Chair Dr. Dino Di Carlo and Graduate Vice Chair Dr. Aaron Meyer. After that, BGA members did a presentations to encourage graduate students to join and be more involved during their time at UCLA and allowed time for a Q&A session. Then, Dr. Meyer gave a presentation on his research on AI, providing a glimpse of one of the several exciting research areas at UCLA Bioengineering. Once the presentations winded down, everyone moved back outside for some refreshments while they networked and connected with some continuing graduate students.
