The event consisted of a boxed luncheon held in the Eng VI patio for both students and faculty members to meet and get to know each other more. Then it winded down for everyone to go inside the Cohen room for department introductions done by Department Chair Dr. Dino Di Carlo and Graduate Vice Chair Dr. Aaron Meyer. Our department will be welcoming new faculty during this upcoming academic year and this orientation allowed for them to introduce themselves to the new students as they are going to be recruiting students into their labs. After that, BGA members did a presentations to encourage graduate students to join and be more involved during their time at UCLA and allowed time for a Q&A session. Once the presentations winded down, everyone moved back outside on the patio for some refreshments while they networked and connected with some continuing graduate students.
