Paul Weiss was there in the 1980s when nanoscience was born. It came about following some key technical advances. These included the ability to not only measure small structures, but to manipulate them. Now nanotechnology is behind areas a s diverse as electronics, and medicine. It is used in haematology, oncology and neuroscience. Paul Weiss takes us on a quick tour of the early days and areas which are now made possible by nanotechnology.
